1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Velato, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The Service
Velato helps users digitize physical bookshelves, organize books into libraries and bookcases, enrich book metadata, share library pages by link, join waitlists, and receive market value estimates and related notifications.
Some features may be experimental, limited, invite-only, or changed, suspended, or removed over time. Velato is still evolving, and features may not always be available in every region or on every platform.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating or using an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and sign-in credentials.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account.
- Beta, waitlist, or whitelist restrictions may limit who can access some or all features.
4. User Content
You may submit content to Velato, including shelf images, bookcase photos, book metadata, descriptions, notes, reviews, ratings, and other library-related material.
You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant CONSI SOFTWARE LTD a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, modify as needed for formatting and technical operation, and display that content in order to operate, improve, and provide the service.
If you create a shared library link, you also grant us permission to make the relevant content available through that share flow.
5. Your Responsibilities
You agree that you will not:
- Upload or share content you do not have the right to use or disclose.
- Upload unlawful, infringing, harmful, defamatory, or deceptive material.
- Interfere with or disrupt the security, integrity, or performance of the service.
- Attempt to scrape, reverse engineer, bypass restrictions, or access data you are not authorized to access.
- Use shared library links for spam, harassment, mass harvesting, or other abusive purposes.
7. Market Value Estimates
Velato may display book-level or library-level market estimates based on matched editions and market data sources. These estimates are provided for general informational purposes only.
- They are not guarantees, offers, appraisals, or commitments to buy or sell.
- They may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate.
- You should not rely on them as financial, investment, tax, legal, or professional advice.
8. Third-Party Services
Velato may rely on third-party services for authentication, analytics, notifications, hosting, storage, enrichment, and market data. Your use of certain features may also involve third-party providers such as Google, Apple, Firebase, Mixpanel, and third-party book or market-data sources.
We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or terms of third-party services, and your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and policies.
9. Intellectual Property
Velato, including the software, interface, branding, design, and service content provided by us, is owned by or licensed to CONSI SOFTWARE LTD and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from our service or materials.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to all or part of the service if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk for users or the service, or if we are required to do so by law.
11. Disclaimers
Velato is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or error-free.
This is especially important for beta and preview features, including scanning, enrichment, shared-library views, notifications, and valuation outputs.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CONSI SOFTWARE LTD and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of Velato.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100.
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update these Terms or change the service from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the service.
Your continued use of Velato after updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, you may contact CONSI SOFTWARE LTD through the support or contact channels we make available through Velato.
